Mineral Wells, WV 09/12/2012 – The open practice, test and tune session held at newly reconfigured West Virginia Motor Speedway (WVMS) on the evening of Sept. 11 was labeled a success by Mid-Ohio Valley racers, fans and track personnel. Anticipation and excitement for the upcoming $3,000 to win “1st Annual Buzzy Topless Classic” was evident as fans populated the spacious hillside before the first racecar entered the pits.

The three hour long practice session saw Super Dirt Late Models, Modifieds, Purestocks, Hotmods, Street Stocks and 4-Cylinders turned laps on the newly configured 4/10 mile surface. Fastest lap time for the Super Dirt Late Models was unofficial at 17.30 by Cross Lane, WV’s Zack Dohm.

The first race on the new track is slated for Sunday, September 16. WVMS will pay the $40 ADRA registration fee for all late models as a way of saying “thank you” to the racers for coming out and
supporting our track. (The registration fee is separate from the $32.00 pit pass.) Pit gates open at 2:00, general admission gates open at 4:00 ($18.00, kids 10 and under, free), with the drivers meeting at 5:30 and hot laps at 6:00.
